2008 GoldWing Light Parade Overview

The 2008 GoldWing Blackpool Light Parade – to be held September 19th-22nd – will be an even bigger and better Full Weekend Event, with numerous new features!

Improved parade arrangements

• Official rolling road closure
• Revised, safer, better route (same as in 2006)
• Better police assistance
• Positive control of all lights and crossings
• Steady, safe speed throughout - no stopping
• Earlier start, earlier finish - Mega Party afterwards!

Expanded all-day promenade display and exhibition

• Saturday Display of Massed GoldWings (same huge promenade area as 2007)
• Sunday - Promenade display is open to all bikers
• Displays by World Champion Motorcycle Drill Team from Florida
• Major exhibition by Blackpool Honda/HondaUK
• Skilled riding demos by Lancashire Constabulary
• BikeSafe/IAM Exhibition and Assessments*
• MAG, BMF, NADB etc, presence and lots more......

Bigger, better social side

• Fast check-in - no artificial waiting
• Whole family event – children/grandchildren catered for
• Entertainment included, on all three nights
• Big name Tribute band for the Saturday Mega Party
• A full weekend social/riding programme including:
  • Talks by Honda's Technical Training Team and Avon Tyre Co
